Little Summer Bloom – From sketch to illustration

I was born far up in the North, where the winters are long and cold, and where the longing for spring feels especially strong.

Since I was little, I have loved studying flowers and nature. I could sit for hours in the forests and mountain landscapes of Jämtland, quietly watching the small spring flowers appear. In many ways, they became like little friends to me.

I do not always know exactly what happens when a character begins to take shape. Somehow, a feeling comes first. A small figure appears in my mind, like Miss Linnea and slowly she begins to show me who she is.

To be able to bring these hand-drawn flowers into the world, and let them appear in print for the very smallest ones we hold dear, feels like a true gift.

Little Summer Bloom is a collection shaped by longing, softness, nature, and the quiet wonder of spring.
