From sketch to feeling

From sketch to feeling

Before an illustration becomes a product, it spends time with us.

We look through the sketches slowly and choose the ones that give us a strong, quiet feeling. The kind that stays. We listen to our own instincts, but just as importantly, we invite children into the process. They get to look, comment, and share what they see, what they feel, and which images speak to them.

Their thoughts matter to us. Children notice details adults often miss, and their honesty helps guide the way forward.

When we all agree that an illustration feels right, it moves on to the next step. Mimmi carefully vectorizes the drawing, making sure the original expression and softness remain, while preparing it to live beautifully on a product.

Only then do we decide what the illustration should become. A bodysuit, a poster, a garment, something that feels like a natural home for that specific image. The illustration is then sent to the print partner we believe suits it best.

Nothing is rushed. Every step is guided by time, care, and attention. Being present in the process, and truly listening to children along the way, is a big part of what makes Justmimmi what it is.

This is how ideas grow here.
Slowly, thoughtfully, and together.
